"Away on a Hilltop" (which can be sung to the tune of "Away in a Manger") traces the powerful story of the most heroic life ever lived. Follow the footsteps of Jesus Christ as He moves from the manger to a village, a temple, and a river. From there He heads to the wilderness, a hillside, a seashore, and a city where the story intensifies. We follow Him away to an upper room and a garden, from which He is led away to a council and eventually to a lonely hilltop. We look for Him in a graveyard, but He once again He has slipped away, this time to a doorway, before being taken away on a cloud, and ultimately to His heavenly kingdom. The story closes with a tender prayer to this wonderful Savior who came to our world to wash our sins away.

Who was Jesus? His popularity peaks each year at Christmastime, as people are charmed by the thought of a sweet baby lying on a bed of hay. But He seems to be very controversial in our culture in the off-season. He is quoted and misquoted. Adored and despised. His name is spoken in blessings and cursings. He is worshiped in prayer and mocked in parody. He truly must have been an extraordinary person to be able stir up such extreme feelings in people for over twenty centuries.
