Some family friends got into character for this nostalgic piece, sitting at the very desks that my father salvaged from the old one-room schoolhouse he used to attend. Back in those days, diversity of thought were not silenced simply because someone didn't likethe particular book those ideas stemmed from. This painting appears in the book "What Do Heroes Wear?", the Christian Small Publishers Association 2012 Book of the Year.
