De Zwaan (The Swan) is the oldest authentic, working Dutch windmill in the United States. Heavily damaged in the Netherlands during World War II, it was shipped to the US in 1964 and reassembled in 1965 at its home located in Windmill Island municipal park in the city of Holland, Michigan. This painting appears in the book "I'm a Michigan Kid."
